Brise soleil, sometimes brise-soleil (; ), is an architectural feature of a building that reduces heat gain within that building by deflecting sunlight. More recently, vertical Brise soleil have become popular.
Neutron-acceptance diagram shading
Neutron Acceptance Diagram Shading
Neutron-acceptance diagram shading (NADS) is a beam simulation technique. Unlike Monte-Carlo simulation codes like McStas, NADS does not trace individual neutrons but traces linearly-related bunches in a reduced-dimensionality phase space.
Shading coil
COMPONENT OF THE MAGNETIC CIRCUIT OF AN EQUIPMENT OPERATING IN ALTERNATING CURRENT
Frager spire; Shading ring
A shading coil or shading ring (Also called Frager spire or Frager coil) is a single (or a few) turn of electrical conductor (usually copper or aluminum) located in the face of the magnet assembly or armature of an alternating current solenoid. The alternating current in the energized primary coil induces an alternating current in the shading coil.
Phong shading
INTERPOLATION TECHNIQUE IN 3D COMPUTER GRAPHICS
Phong reflection; Phong shading model; Phuong shading; Phong shader
<graphics> A model of how light is reflected from surfaces used extensively in three dimensional graphics to generate visually realistic images. [Details?] (1994-11-09)

Cel shading or toon shading is a type of non-photorealistic rendering designed to make 3-D computer graphics appear to be flat by using less shading color instead of a shade gradient or tints and shades. A cel shader is often used to mimic the style of a comic book or cartoon and/or give the render a characteristic paper-like texture.

Shading

Shading refers to the depiction of depth perception in 3D models (within the field of 3D computer graphics) or illustrations (in visual art) by varying the level of darkness. Shading tries to approximate local behavior of light on the object's surface and is not to be confused with techniques of adding shadows, such as shadow mapping or shadow volumes, which fall under global behavior of light.
